In Shadows of the Divine, Marc Pierrard reimagines sacred iconography through monumental, ghostly imagery that interrogates faith, death, and collective memory. The series juxtaposes biblical references—such as a distorted reworking of The Last Supper—with powerful vanitas motifs like towering skull mounds painted on derelict architecture. Executed at a massive scale, the works confront viewers with the fragility of belief systems and the haunting presence of history, evoking both reverence and decay.
